Location & surroundings

Petra is a quiet country town in the island's interior and the birthplace of the Franciscan Junípero Serra, founder of the California missions; his birthplace and museum can be visited. Above the town is the Ermita de Bonany sanctuary with panoramic views.

The beaches on the Bay of Alcúdia at Can Picafort and the natural beach of Son Serra de Marina are around 25 minutes away. Sineu with its Wednesday market and Manacor are close by, and Palma airport is about 35 minutes away.
